ALEX LAM
HEAD COACH
Alex first started coaching in 2012 and discovered he had a passion for youth ultimate on the west coast. He became a coordinator for the Vancouver Misfit Club Program and helped it grow to 11 teams — six of which regularly attend CJUC. He also developed off-season training programs and skills clinics to help players prevent injuries and to provide playing opportunities throughout the years. He strives to give youth frisbee players, of any level, a place to play competitively and to better themselves as athletes. Since then, Alex has coached a team to finals at CJUC every year since 2018. Taking gold home in 2019, 2023, and 2024. He has also had the privilege of coaching team Canada U20 in 2022 and 2024. Additionally, Alex has also coached adult at a high level, bringing Red Flag to a worlds club championships silver in 2022.
Alex is excited to help develop athletes into confident frisbee players who feel ready to perform on the field. He heavily values team culture and making sure each player feels supported not only by their teammates but by the coaches.

JOSHUA FOK
ASSISTANT COACH
Joshua has been coaching Ultimate for 5 years, including high school at VCS and club with Prime. From playing Dyno to Team Canada, Joshua brings high level experience and passion that he hopes to share with Dyno players this summer.
Throughout the season, Joshua is excited to help develop players’ skills and love for the game, believing that playing smart is just as important, or even more, than playing hard.

WILLIAM TANG
ASSISTANT COACH
William began his ultimate career in 2016, playing for multiple junior club teams resulting in a gold medal during his final junior season in 2019. After graduating high school, he joined Blackfish Ultimate, competing with them from 2020 through 2022. Alongside his playing career, William transitioned into coaching—starting with high school teams and progressing to both junior and senior club levels. On the junior side, he coached Dyno Open in 2023 and 2024, who won back-to-back gold medals. At the senior level, he also coached Blackfish Open. William has also contributed to the collegiate scene as the assistant coach for the UBC Men’s Ultimate team.
He is excited to return with Dyno with new experiences and strategy that he has accumulated throughout this past year.

JAMIE JUNG
HEAD COACH
Jamie has been playing competitive ultimate for 6 years and currently plays for the UBC Women’s Ultimate Team and Seacows. She has also recently played for the Team Canada’s U24 Women’s Team last summer. Jamie has coached Prime teams and programs for the last 3 years, and most recently was an assistant coach for Dyno Women’s (2025).
Jamie is excited to return for another season with Dyno W and is looking to continue sharing her knowledge and experience and build the next generation of female-matching athletes.

DANAE JAN
ASSISTANT COACH
Danae previously played for Dyno Women’s (2023), TC U20 (2022 & 2024), and Seacows (2025). She also coached Dyno Women’s last year.
Danae is looking forward to coaching Dyno again this summer and helping develop the next generation of talent.

MIKA KURAHASHI
ASSISTANT COACH
Mika has been playing ultimate for 9 years and coaching junior club for 5 years. As a player, she has represented Canada at the World Games, World Ultimate Championships, and U24 World Championships 3 times. Mika competed with the club team Red Flag for 4 seasons and is currently in her final year of playing for the UBC Thunderbirds.
As a coach, Mika is detail-oriented and cares about building good habits in her players. She loves helping people improve their skills and aims to create long-lasting positive memories over the course of a club season. Mika is super stoked to be joining the Dyno coaching staff this year and hopes to do her part in making the team the best they can be.

BEN JIANG
HEAD COACH
Ben is a product of the Prime pipeline and has made his mark at every level—earning gold with Dyno and representing Canada on the U20 Mixed National Team, where he helped secure a silver medal on the world stage. With experience as a player on Furious George, Ben brings top-tier playing experience and a competitive mindset to the Nitro coaching staff.
Returning for his third year as a coach, Ben’s passion for the game drives his approach. With a focus on hard work, growth, and team culture, he is committed to helping Nitro make a strong run this summer.

ETHAN TRAIN
ASSISTANT COACH
Ethan has been playing ultimate for about 3 years. He began playing for his high school team, and then in the summer he played for Prime in its first year in 2023. He played Nitro in 2023 and Dyno in 2024. Ethan played for Blackfish last summer, and then for UBC during the school year. This summer, Ethan is playing with Richmond Royals. While this is his first time coaching a club team, Ethan has coached his high school team for the past two seasons.
As a coach, Ethan wants to implement a balance of fun with learning and hard work. He aims to implement the Prime program principles that I still use to this day. Ethan really enjoys helping people develop, and teaching them everything he has learned about the sport. Ethan is passionate about winning, but also emphasizes good spirit and fun. Overall, Ethan wants everyone to have a memorable and enjoyable summer playing with Prime.

MILES WONG
ASSISTANT COACH
Miles is a current Furious George athlete and UBC Men's Ultimate captain with career accolades including 2 CJUC and CJ4UC golds, as well as silver and bronze with TC U20 Mixed and U24 Open, respectively.
Miles is excited to push competitive and driven athletes past their limits to outperform expectations.

REX YUEN
ASSISTANT COACH
Rex has competed across high-level teams, including Dyno (2023-2024), Red Flag (2023-2024), and TC U20 Mixed (2024). Most recently in 2025, he played on Furious and TC U24 Open. Rex is currently competing with UBC, as he continues to develop at the university level.
As a coach, Rex is focused on developing youth players’ skillsets while simplifying concepts to make the game approachable, fun, and easy to understand.

LAUREN SZETO-FUNG
HEAD COACH
Lauren has represented Canada at the U20 and U24 levels and is currently in her second year with the UBC Women’s team. With Prime, she has won four National Titles and competed with Red Flag Ultimate from 2022 to 2024.
Lauren is passionate about building a strong team culture and creating an environment where players feel confident and supported as they take on new challenges. She aims to give aspiring athletes the same positive Junior frisbee experience she had.

BRYELLE WONG
ASSISTANT COACH
Bryelle began playing ultimate in high school where she developed a passion for the game. She has achieved multiple National Championship titles with Prime, and has been involved with the Prime Program as a coach and coordinator since graduating from Juniors. Bryelle has also represented Team Canada twice and is currently a member of the UBC Thunderbirds Women's team.
As a coach, Bryelle aims to build a supportive and productive team environment that allows athletes to develop their knowledge of the game. She hopes to provide athletes with a meaningful experience that contributes to their development as an athlete through hard work and commitment

ASSISTANT COACH
Steffi has been playing frisbee for 8 years now and has played on Eclipse (2022), Dyno (2023), TC U20 Women’s (2024), and Seacows (2025). She is currently playing for Richmond Royals and UVic Vikes.
Steffi coached Nitro Women’s in 2025 and is super excited to be back to help develop athletes' confidence on and off the field.

RONAN PON
HEAD COACH
Ronan has coached at Eric Hamber for the past five years, starting with the Junior teams and now coaching Senior A. He has also coached Mischief Open in the summer. As a player, Ronan has competed with Eclipse, Reign, and the UBC Big Birds.
Ronan is excited to see the next group of players build confidence, gain experience on the field, and grow over the course of the summer.

CALEB CHUA
ASSISTANT COACH
2026 will be Caleb's fifth year as a club ultimate player, and as a coach. He plays for SFU Ultimate, and coaches the Van Tech Senior Ultimate team.
Caleb is looking forward to helping players who love playing ultimate, and who have aspirations to play at the elite level.

DUNCAN NICHOLS
ASSISTANT COACH
Duncan has played for the UBC Men’s team for two years, as well as Blackfish. He is a former Prime Player with Dyno in 2024.
Duncan has coached VUL summer camps and is ready to coach a competitive team. He hopes to grow a strong and welcoming team culture that allows players to develop and compete throughout the summer.

ISABELLA LIN
HEAD COACH
Isabella is a competitive ultimate frisbee player with experience at both national and international levels. She is a National Champion with the UBC Women’s team and has competed with the Seacows, earning a 3rd place finish at the 2025 Canadian Ultimate Championships. In 2024, she represented Canada on the U20 Mixed Team, contributing to high-performance play on the international stage.
Isabella’s coaching philosophy centers on developing skilled, confident athletes within a strong team environment. She prioritizes long-term player development by focusing on fundamentals, game awareness, and learning through mistakes. Her goal is to help athletes grow in performance and confidence while fostering a lasting connection to the sport.

ADDIE HUI
ASSISTANT COACH
Addie has played ultimate all throughout high school and Junior Women's club for three years. She finished her last Junior season with Nitro Women's. Currently, Addie plays for UBC and is also set to represent Team Canada at the U20 World Junior Ultimate Championships this summer.
As a former Prime player, Addie is eager to give back to the program that helped her grow. She hopes to strengthen the pipeline and support the next generation of players in the same way her coaches supported her. Addie is excited to share the knowledge and experience she has gained, both as a player and as a coach (with VC/LFA), to help younger athletes develop their skills and confidence.

Phoebe has coached with Elevate & Churchill. Her playing history includes UBC Thunderbirds, TT, and Dyno.
Phoebe is excited to empower young athletes to improve and strive for excellence in all aspects of the sport through encouragement and approachability.
